  1. Well hello Sue

Thanks for sharing this LinkedIn development, its one of those strange sites that we are told to join then wonder why we did as with so many options to network there needs to be more than just that.

Thankfully as you point out they have now started to resolve this and like I look forward to formulating a plan to make the most of it once my door opens.

  2. Hi Sue,

Great to meet you and Dan in person in Manchester last month (wow, that long ago already!).

As igor says, LinkedIn seems to be one of those sites you join and then wonder what to do with.

I’ll admit I don’t make nearly enough use of the opportunities it presents, despite having listened to a couple of teleseminars (yes, telesminars, not webinars, remember them…) quite some time ago by people who were making a lot of money doing what they were doing.

On the other hand, many who “teach” LinkedIn are targeting a different purpose, very often lead generation for local businesses, which is fine if that’s your business model, but not everyone wants to go that route.

I do find it a little irritating being “endorsed” by people I don’t know for skills I wonder how they could know I have those skills…

And I am very selective about accepting invitations on LinkedIn (as I am in general, but perhaps more so there).

Mainly people I used to know around the world because we were once at the same large international public relations agency (it’s a bit like the alumni of a university!), or internet marketers I actually know.

What criteria do you apply there?

    Take care,
